Types of Programs

WorkoutSmart programs fall into several different types depending on what you are looking for.

Base Programs

These are standard programs for the goal and incorporate the best approach for the goal selected.  These programs will generally use readily available equipment at a gym including both free weights (i.e. barbells and dumbbells) and machines.

Dumbbell Oriented Programs

These are programs within the goal that only use dumbbells and machines.  This allows you to work out with the same great experience within the goal without having to use the heavier or more advanced equipment.

Express Programs

Express programs are base or dumbbell oriented programs that are written to be shorter with emphasis on only the primary strength exercises.  This is not to be confused with the Smart Express! feature though it is similar.  The express programs can be thought of as programs with the Smart Express! already applied for the length of the program.  These are ideal if you would like to have shorter workouts all of the time.

Programs with Cardio

Programs with Cardio are programs within this goal that include cardio exercises within the workouts.  These utilize your resting heart rate and the Rockport walk test if you have performed it.
